Insecurity can be a serious issue. But it's not simply a matter of arrogance; we just don't trust God enough. The problem is much deeper than simply a lack of religious faith. Lack of faith is a byproduct of this mess we're in. It's been this way since the fall of Eden. None of this is new. Our insecurity reflects our state of mind. We haven't merely lost faith in God. We've been separated from him. It's so bad we need a mediator just to talk to him. No, the problems of man run deep. Insecurity isn't even the worst example. Thankfully, though, it won't always be this way. Thank God!

good stuff, Jared. Christ calls us to come and die, to take up our cross with Him. Dying to self-love is probably top of that list.

I agree with you that we shouldn't have insecurity if we truly put our faith in God. Overcoming insecurity is a hard thing for some people to do because it is a deep part of who they are, even rooted in their childhood. It may take years for some people to conquer this sin. It is possible through the power of the holy spirit.

By the way... this blog post was entirely too short! :)
