Expectations

If you’re new here then you are probably wondering what The Journey is all about. You can find a good bit of info here, but if you want the cliff notes version of our key values and what to expect when you come, keep reading.

Key Values

  • We are Jesus centered. We unapologetically follow the truth revealed in the bible.
  • We are about relationships and community.  In a world steeped in loneliness, we are programmed for relationships.
  • We don’t have much respect for traditional churchocracy. We’ve stripped away many traditions and replaced them with relevent expressions of faith and worship.
  • We believe in building relational bridges to where people are in the culture instead of isolating ourselves from it.
  • We recognize the value of authenticity. We despise hypocrisy in all forms.
  • We are reformed. We appreciate the contributions of those who sacrificed much for the purity of the church and a proper understanding of true Christian spirituality throughout church history.
  • We are evangelical. We hold the bible in the highest regard. We believe that it is completely accurate in all matters of faith and practice.

What to Expect when you come

  • We have laser light shows, live people on zip lines, people who handle snakes, and… naah just kidding, we’ll just tell you about Jesus.
  • Our people are welcoming and don’t care who you are, where you’ve been or what you look like.
  • Our atmosphere is casual and laid back so you can be yourself.
  • Our worship music is modern and loud.
  • Our teaching is biblical and relevant.
  • Our facilities have just been remodeled and are relaxing and inviting. We have an incredible audio video system, great coffee bar, comfortable sitting areas, and free WIFI.

Welcome to The Journey

We are a new church plant on the west side of Atlanta in the Austell and Mableton area. At the Journey, we are trying to re-form the church around the teachings and example of Jesus Himself while building relational bridges to people in the current culture. Out with the self-righteous, judgmental attitudes and the useless religious traditionalism, and in with the fresh wind of the timeless teachings of love and forgiveness, acceptance and repentance.
